Congratulations to Quentin Huys who has been awarded a Wellcome Trust Investigator Award for his project ‘Maladaptive thinking patterns in depression’.
The grant will study how maladaptive thinking patterns, particularly after antidepressant discontinuation, contribute to depression relapse risk. It will first study how maladaptive thinking patterns arise and cause emotions using tasks and magnetoencephalography (MEG) stimulus decoding. In the second part, we will examine how psychotherapy and antidepressants influence MEG signatures of maladaptive thinking, and how these predict depression relapses.
