Markus Werkle-Bergner

Markus Werkle-Bergner is a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Lifespan Psychology within the Max Planck Institute for Human Development. He is the principal investigator for the reserarch area „Lifespan Rhythms of Memory and Cognition (RHYME)“. Markus studied Psychology, Economics, and Philosophy at Saarland University in Saarbrücken. He defended his dissertation at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2009 and completed his habilitation at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in 2019. In his research, Markus aims to understand how ontogenetic changes and environmental affordances shape brain structure and function in the service of attention, learning, and memory.
