Jakub Onysk
Incoming Fellow, IMPRS COMP2PSYCH London
Jakub Onysk’s journey began with the study of Mathematics and Philosophy at the University of Exeter. His mathematical background and interest in philosophy of mind led him to pursue an MSc in Cognitive Science at the University of Edinburgh, where he focused on computational psychiatry of eating disorders. In the last year, he’s been working as a Research Assistant at the Computational and Biological Learning lab at the University of Cambridge looking into various neuro-computational mechanisms underlying pain perception and its significance for chronic pain, in particular temporal statistical learning. As of October 2022, he is joining the Max Planck UCL Centre for Computational Psychiatry and Ageing Research where he hopes to investigate some of the mechanisms underpinning depression, with the aim of clinical application.
