Matthew Nour

Matthew Nour studied medicine and neuroscience at University of Oxford. He subsequently completed core postgraduate psychiatry training at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (King’s College London) and the Maudsley Hospital (London), and became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych UK) in 2018. During this time, he conducted research in the neurobiology of schizophrenia using fMRI and dopamine PET, as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow. In 2018 Matthew was awarded a Wellcome Clinical PhD Fellowship to complete a PhD at University College London, supervised by Ray Dolan (UCL) and Zeb Kurth-Nelson (DeepMind). His dissertation investigated behavioural and neural signatures of ‘cognitive map’ representations in schizophrenia. Matthew was appointed as an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Psychiatry at University of Oxford in June 2022.
