I discovered my interest in neuroimaging during my studies of psychology and cognitive neuroscience at the Ruhr-University in Bochum. I was always fascinated by the influence experience, learning, and ageing have on the structural and functional characteristics of the human brain. Starting my PhD together with Nicolas Schuck in the MPRG-NeuroCode at the Max Plank Institute for Human Development in Berlin allowed me to pursue this fascination and to dive deeper into the world of advanced fMRI data analysis. As a fellow of the International Max Plank Research School LIFE, I am mainly investigating age-related changes in the human brain, specifically in the neural signals associated with spatial navigation. Other interests lie in reinforcement learning, computational modelling, cognitive maps of (abstract) space, and the reproducibility of analysis pipelines. Outside of science I enjoy playing music, climbing with friends, and being a nerd in general.”
