Magda Dubois

Fellow, IMPRS COMP2PSYCH London

August 15, 2022

Magda Dubois is a fourth year PhD student on the IMPRS COMP2PSYCH programme under the supervision of Tobias Hauser. Her PhD focuses on understanding the computational and cognitive mechanisms of the exploration-exploitation trade-off, for which she has used computational modelling, pharmacological manipulations, and a large-scale online study. She is also interested in how this trade-off changes across childhood and adolescence, which she has investigated in a developmental cohort. She holds a BSc in Bioengineering from EPFL Lausanne (2015), and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London (2017) where she used deep reinforcement learning for computer vision under the supervision of Prof. Anil Bharath. She has complemented her studies with research placements at Harvard Medical School in Boston (Prof. Diego Pizzagalli and Prof. Poornima Kumar; 2015), at Tokyo University of Agriculture (Prof. Gentiane Venture; 2016), at the Central Institute of Mental Health in Mannheim (Dr. Nathalie Holz; 2018) and at the Max Planck Institute of Human Development in Berlin (Dr. Doug Garrett; 2020).
